What's On My Face! #MakeupMonday

25.2.15

Hello, wonderful people! I hope you have had a great start to your week! Have you set any goals for the week? My goal for the week is to find the good in every situation, whether it is a good or bad situation. This is something I'm really trying to make myself work on.  Do you have problems with being too critical or just being a negative Nancy? Try setting a goal for yourself this week and see where it takes you.

Anyway, this post is supposed to be about what makeup products I have been loving and have chosen to include in my makeup look to start off the week!  So without further ado here are the one's that have made the cut this week. I think I am going to make this a weekly thing on this blog so if anyone happens to read this and wants to give me any feedback on if anyone would find this interesting, please give me a comment or reach out to me on any of my social media links. Thanks!
Starting from the upper left hand corner and going clockwise:
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Global Finish ($32.00): This is my go to product when I want a golden-glowy type look any time of the year. I like to use this with an angled powder brush on the tops of my cheekbones to give a really nice lit from within glow. It is definitely a year round staple in my makeup collection.

NARS Blush in Dolce Vita ($30.00): Dolce Vita gives a very natural looking flush to the cheeks and is one of my favorite blush shades in my collection. It can be applied lightly for a light dusty rose color or built up for a intense rosy-browny color that looks amazing with a tan! I personally think that this shade is one that is flattering on most any skintone.

NARS Illuminator in Copacabana ($30.00): If there is one product that can give my skin life when it's absolute crap, it's this one. The pearly color creates the most beautiful, natural looking glow that, when paired with the MAC mineralize skin finish in Global Finish, is GORGEOUS! I have Gabby from VelvetGh0st to thank for recommending this gem in one of her favorites videos! THANKS GABBY!!

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Light2 Vanilla ($ 29.00):  Hands down the best all-rounder concealer that I have ever come across! It covers like the Makeup Forever Full Cover concealer but feels alot nicer on the skin. You almost forget that you are wearing any concealer, which in my opinion is the best feeling there is!

I kept it very subtle and shimmery for the eyes but still kept with the glowy theme.

Barry M Dazzle Dust in the shade 39 Tan ($4.89): A really pretty nude pigment with some glitter in it but not so much that it makes it unwearable for anything other than a holiday party. I don't think that I would have been brave enough to pick it out for myself but one of my best friends from Scotland, Eilidh, sent it over as part of my Christmas gift and I'm so glad she did because I'm obsessed with loose eye shadow/pigments! THANKS EILIDH!!

Tarte Gifted Mascara ($20.00): Length, volume, and it conditions your lashes! What more could you want in a mascara?! I might actually love this more than the Benefit They're Real Mascara! (mock shock horror!)

Benefit Gimme Brow in Medium/Deep ($22.00): The lazy girl's tool to thick and perfect but not too perfectly shaped brows. I have the lighter one as well as this dark shade to have a subtler brow shape.
My favorite brow product by far.

MAC Paint Pot in Vintage Selection ($21.00): One part peach, one part shimmery taupey color. Vintage Selection is my preference when it comes to the neutrals in MAC's Paint Pot colors. Most people like soft ochre the best but I think Vintage Selection is a very underrated color and should be given more credit because it really is a wear all base that can be worn when Groundwork is just too plain of a shade for your taste.

Lastly is the finishing touch to this glowy fresh skin look, the lip products:

Chanel Rouge Allure Lipgloss in 15 Sensible ($34.00): This is probably the only lipgloss I have ever tried that didn't make my lips feel like they had lipgloss on. The MAC ones that I've tried have all felt too sticky and just really put me off wearing lip glosses. I've never been a lipgloss girl until I stumbled upon these little beauties. I have to admit, what really pulled me to them was there clicky packaging where the applicator is hidden inside the tube and you push the top of the tube like you would a pen and the applicator comes out! It's genius packaging in my opinion although it might seem a little gimmicky for a brand as high end as Chanel. The color of this gloss is spectacular and the pigmentation is like that of a lipstick. My favorite thing about it is how hydrating it is on the lips without leaving that sticky feeling that most lipglosses are notorious for. A great choice for day or night. Its the perfect balance between a peachy-nude and a coraly-pinky color.

Here is the finished look. It is definitely one of my favorite looks to wear during the winter months when it's not quite full on winter but its not yet spring time. It makes me feel a bit brighter. I hope you all enjoyed this rather in depth explanation of my favorite products that I've decided on using during the week! Again please comment below if you think that I should make this a weekly thing because I enjoy reading people's opinions on products but you all might think this is as boring as bricks. So yeah, leave me a comment below with your opinion and if you've made any goals for the week! See you guys next time!
Love you all! Xx
